Cheesey Cookies / Biscuits

These tasty savoury cookies are a nice change from sweet baking and can be as spicey as you like if you add a dash or tabasco or chilli powder.

Ingredients

75g  (1/2 cup) PlainFlour
75g  Salted butter
75g  Grated mature cheddar cheese
¼ Teaspoon mustard powder
¼ Teaspoon Paprika
1 Teaspoon nutritional yeast flakes / Marmite

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180C, Gas 6.
  2. Measure flour,  grated cheese, butter paprika, mustard and nutritional yeast into a bowl.
  3. Using your hand, squeeze all the ingredients together to form a ball of dough.
  4. Sprinkle a little flour onto a board and onto a rolling pin.
  5. Place the dough ball onto the board and carefully roll out the dough to a thickness of about 0.5cm. Sprinkle more flour if the dough is too sticky.
  6. Choose your cookie cutter, rub it into some flour ( to stop the dough sticking). Gently cut out your biscuit shapes, place on greaseproof paper  and onto a baking tray.
  7. Cook for 10-15 mins.
