(Sweet) Potato Wedges/Chips

The great thing about sweet potatoes is they taste great and they also count towards your five a day (whereas normal potatoes don’t as they are less nutritious).

Totally up to you whether you cut wedges or straight chips (which cook more evenly) – or something in between. If you’re using an air fryer, we find that the chips will crisp without using oil but they will go soft quite quickly.

Ingredients

Medium potatoes (white, sweet or purple!)
Oil (optional)
Spices (paprika, chilli, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin powder etc)
Salt & Pepper

Method

1, Cut your potato in half longways. Then cut each half into wedges with the thickest side of the wedge about 5 mm thick. The smaller they are, the quicker they will cook.

2, Place all your wedges in a bowl and toss in a light coating of oil (not too much).

3. Then sprinkle over your spices, salt and pepper.

4. Tip onto a baking tray or in an air fryer so you have one layer of wedges.

5. Bake at 180° C until golden.

6. Serve straight away while hot.
